  • Academic competition club

    Sponsors: Ms. Jensen

    The Academic Competition Club is for those students who would like to compete in different academic competitions throughout middle Tennessee. If you are interested in Quiz Bowl, Science, Math, Writing, or History and would like to compete as a team in these different competitions, Academic Competition Club is for you.

    Every other Thursday from 3:30-4:30pm

    Art Club

    We will do a variety of art projects to take home!

    BeyBlade & Trading Card Club

    Sponsors:  Mr. Ware 

    Meets: Every Friday at 8:00am in room TBA

    We will talk about our favorite types of trading cards (Pokemon cards, baseball cards, etc.) AND play BeyBlades 


    Chess club

    Sponsors:  Mr. Ware

    Meets: Monday mornings 8:00-8:30am in room TBA

    We teach, play, and improve our chess playing.


    Crochet Club

    Sponsors: Ms. McCarter

    Do you have an interest in learning a new skill? Then crochet club may be for you! Everyone is welcome and no previous skill is required. We just ask that you bring your own supplies.

    Drama Bears

    Sponsor: Mrs. London 

    The Drama Bears are student performers and creatives who volunteer their time to participate in plays and musical productions throughout the year.  Joining by way of actor auditions and crew interviews, the students are afforded opportunities to discover, hone, and apply their artistic talents in rehearsals and by designing and constructing sets and props. The young artist’s efforts culminate in a weekend of fantastic performances on the Mt Juliet Middle School stage.

    We hope you consider auditioning or interviewing for our productions as ALL are welcome. We work very hard in rehearsals and have so much fun while doing so! 

    Meeting concurrently with show production schedules. Dates for actor auditions, crew interviews,requirement, expectations, schedules, etc. are broadcast via: parent newsletters, school website/social media, student announcements, and posters. Sign ups for audition and interview slots are collected through Google Forms and Sign Up Genius. There is a $65 participation fee for each production and participants assume all of their costume costs.


    FCA- Fellowship of Christian Athletes

    FCA will meet every other Thursday for 6th/7th & every other Friday for 8th

    Faith + Sport = FCA; Uniting your two passions, faith and athletics, to impact the world for Jesus Christ.

    FFA is an intracurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture, leadership, community involvement and having fun while doing it all.

    First Priority

    First Priority is a youth organization that supports student-initiated, student-led Christian clubs on middle school and high school campuses.

    Jazz Band

    Sponsor: Mrs. Slater 

    Jazz Band an ensemble that plays jazz style music. It is made up of Drum Set, Piano, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, and all typical band instruments can play as well. The Jazz Band at MJMS is so much fun! Come JAM with us!

    Lego Club

    Math Club

    Sponsor: Mrs. Fisher

    Meetings: Tuesdays/Thursdays 7:50-8:20am, room TBA

    This will be a math time for peer tutoring to occur. Members do not have to attend every meeting. 


    Pep Club

    Sponsor: Mr. Keeler

    We will meet together to make signs, shakers, and plan events for sporting events.

    Tri-M Music Honors Society 

    Sponsor: Mrs. Slater and Mr. Figueroa

    Tri-M is the only national honor society for student musicians in the country. It highlights your school's music program and gives students the opportunity to perform, lead, and serve. A Tri-M Music Honor Society chapter opens up a world of opportunities for students who have already shown themselves to be academically capable and musically gifted. Through performance and community service, they’ll develop confidence, creativity, critical thinking, compassion, and a host of other leadership skills sure to serve them well in school and beyond. In order to join Tri-M you have to be a part of one of the schools music ensembles (choir or band) and meet certain grade requirements. Please see Mrs. Slater or Mr. Figueroa for an application

    Ninja's of Niceness

    We provide intentional acts of kindness around our school to boost morale and doing things behind the scenes “without any fanfare,” but to do good things for others.

    Science Club

    Sponsor: Ms. Blankenship

    Students work on STEM, chemistry, and life science projects. Past activities include building bridges, making catapults, experimenting with DNA, making plastic & dissecting owl pellets.

    Meets: 2nd & 4th Monday from 3:45- 4:30 pm in room TBA


    Student Ambassadors

    Sponsors: Ms. Bush and Mrs. Roberts

    Students Ambassadors is a social and hospitality club that will meet occasionally after school, during school hours, and at home events. Students will represent MJMS in welcoming new students, giving tours, making welcoming baskets while getting to know new students. Opportunities will include after school socials, eating lunch with new students, & community involvement.

    Student Council

    Sponsors: Ms. Serbin, Mrs. Hammer, Mrs. Trawick, Mr. Callahan, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Gray, and Coach Hawks 

    Student Council is a group for students that want to grow in leadership through school wide activities, service projects, and participating in the state organization TASC. By application only

    Swim Club

    Sponsors: Mr. Keeler and Mrs. Roberts 

    We will swim competitively against other schools in middle Tennessee. In this club, we will have a variety of swimmers, from beginners to experienced. You will learn to swim competitively and strengthen your swimming skills through different swimming techniques.

    Sundays- 1:30-3:00pm @ Jimmy Floyd Center

    WilCo Youth Prevention Coalition

    Sponsor: Nurse Monica

    YPC is a division of DrugFree WilCo. MJMS is the first and only middle school to have a chapter, and we work to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle for teens in Wilson County. We are a youth prevention coalition aiming to make a difference in our peers’ lives.

    Writing Club

    Sponsor: Mrs. Puckett

    Writing club will be an opportunity for student authors to share and workshop their writing!
